A new lesson in how to win friends and influence customers.Angry

I wonder home many customers Tom brought to Benelli over the years.  Hope they stand behind their products better than they stand behind people.

Too often, companies forget that they are made up of PEOPLE....not numbers.  While I don't know the circumstances of his employment agreement or subsequent termination, I would imagine that a leave of absence would have been better suited for both parties.  If a man cannot perform his duties due to health reasons, companies should not be tethered to that man forever....however, after 18 years I would assume that he'd earned more than a pink slip, at a difficult time.  I won't stop shooting Benelli shotguns, but I'll dang should file this as a "Business Lesson Learned", because I'd never want to be on the bad side of this deal.

Looks like they are starting to half arse their employment relations.  I just hope they don't start half arseing their products or I will be finding me a new gun to shoot.  Like Curt, I won't stop shooting Benelli shotguns so long as they keep making a extremely reliable product.

You would figure a major player in shotgunning would have a better grasp on what Tom Knapp has done for them.  He was their PR in most peoples minds.  I do believe lessons will be learned here.

I just browsed the link. I'm surprised that they haven't taken down all references to Benelli. If I'm the Beretta marketing VP, I'm already on the phone...(or Remington or Mossberg, et. al.)

I suspect that there is more to this that meets the eye.   "Medical reasons" may be code for chemical depencies.  He's rumored to have hit the bottle pretty hard, and I've heard that he is not as hot of a shot in person as he is on tv
