Second to last day of duck season was out scouting and thought I burned my water pump up. Had my friend tow me in so I didn't do any permanent damage to the motor.  Didn't wanna pay for a place to store it up here at school so a close family friend had me drop it off as his house and he said he'd take a look. When he got the lower unit off and the top part of the water pump housing this is what he found. Still wondering where that 5th blade fragment is as he could not find it.

Usually replace the impeller once a year and this one was just 9 months old, but when I think back on how many times I used it fishing last summer and all the preseason scouting trips and hunting trips, I probably should have replaced it earlier in the season.

You were wise to shut 'er down and not do more damage. Glad it all worked out.

Chances are the other blade is up in the motor somewhere.Keep an eye on the top pistons and make sure they dont get hot.Even thouhg you put a new impeller in doesn't mean that other blade want restric water flow somewhere.

Is there any way to back flush the system or use compressed air and see if that piece wont come out??
